Hi. Welcome to First Grade. My name is Rebecca Mazoch. I am excited to be your First Grade teacher at Hooks Elementary School. I hope you are excited, too.
I love children and I love teaching First Grade. I think that makes a good combination, don't you?
This is my twentieth-first year to teach in Hooks, Texas. I have taught a total of thirty years. I have taught grades other than first grade but most of my career has been in teaching First Grade. It is just my favorite in every way! My favorite part of First Grade is YOU! I love First Grade children. So I feel that we are going to have a great year together.
Let me tell you some things about First Grade. We have four classes. There are two Reading/Lanugage Arts classes and two Math/Science/Social Studies classes. Mrs. Mazoch and Mrs. Reed teach the Reading classes. Mrs. Diamond and Mrs. Grelle teach the Math classes. You will have one Reading and one Math teacher this year.
I teach Reading, Spelling, English, and Writing. When you come in my class, get ready to learn! Every day will be full of new ideas, thought, and concepts. You will use the knowledge you learn in First Grade for the rest of your life! That is one reason it is so important to make every day your best. I know we will achieve a lot as we go throughout this year together!
