Hello parents and students! I'm Mrs. Sharon Mitchell, Campus Reading Coach for Hooks Elementary. Before I became the Reading Coach at HES I taught fine arts for 2 years and reading for 11 years. This is my fourth year to be our Campus Reading Coach.

I am married to Steve Mitchell, General Manager of KTXK FM 91.5 at Texarkana College. We have 3 married sons and 2 grandchildren.
In my spare time I enjoy being with my wonderful family, spoiling my grandchildren, going to movies, entertaining, shopping, and traveling.

Under the guidelines of the Texas Reading First grant, I work with the classroom teachers, reading intervention teachers, and students so that the goal of "No Child Left Behind" can be met. At HES we are working toward all of our students reading on or above grade level by the end of third grade. If we all work together, I believe this goal can be a reality!
