The Parent Booster Club of Hooks Elementary sponsored a fundraiser the week of April 14-18. The fundraiser was 'Kiss the Pig'. The students voted on the five staff volunteers to 'kiss a pig' by bringing their 'spare change' to school to drop in the staff volunteer jar of their choice. The volunteers were: Valerie Edwards (3rd grade teacher), Angie Graham (Reading Teacher), Michael Ruth (Coach), Murphy Howell (Coach) and Craig Mahar (Assistant Principal). The volunteer at the end of the week that had raised the most money agreed to 'kiss a pig' at the finale on Friday, April 18 at 1:45. If the total raised exceeds $500, Principal Jean Trout has agreed to 'kiss a pig'.
The fundraiser was a success! The students put the most money in
Coach Michael Ruth’s jar, therefore he had to kiss the pig. Since more than $500 was raised, Principal Jean Trout, also had to kiss the pig.
Hooks Elementary would like to thank the Booster Club for organizing this event. The students had a great time and $544.35 was raised..
