Accelerated Reading continues to be a portion of our reading program at Hooks Elementary.


Each six weeks, three of your child’s reading grades will be earned through AR.

1. AR Journal
This is a record of the books your child has read.
The AR forms offer a chance to review the book before testing.
----Your child's journal may be used when taking AR tests.
----The journal will be kept in your child’s binder.


2. AR Test Average
This grade is an average of all the tests taken for the six weeks. (An AR report will be sent home every Friday to help monitor your student's AR average and the number of points earned.)
