Hi,
My name is Glenda Duke. I'm a Special Education teacher for Hooks Elementary. I have worked for Hooks ISD since 1990, but I 've been a loyal Hornet since moving to Hooks in 1964. My church, FUMC-Hooks, my family, friends, and school are important to me. When not in school, I enjoy traveling, reading, sports (especially volleyball), watching TV, collecting turtles-not live ones--and doing things with my family and friends.
My teaching career began in January, 1968, in Marshall, Texas, after graduating from East Texas Baptist College. Then in September,1968, I began my career with Pleasant Grove ISD, Texarkana, where I worked with all levels, K-5th, from the gifted and talented, ESP'S, second and third graders, and some very special students who just needed a little extra. After 22 years with them, I came home to Hooks to become a Special Ed teacher. During this time I received my masters from Stephen F. Austin University and my special education certification from East Texas State, Texarkana.
