Mrs. Cindy McKeever
Our children are our future!
Welcome!
Welcome to Kindergarten! My name is Cindy McKeever and I will have the pleasure of teaching your child this year. It is my belief that a child's success is based on a cooperative parent/teacher relationship and I look forward to working with you this year! At this early stage of learning, it is important to set routines in your child's life. Try to set aside time each day to discuss what your child did in school. Throughout the year, I will communicate through notes, this web site, telephone calls, letters, and conferences as needed. I encourage you to contact me with any questions or concerns. You can write me a note and put it in your child's folder or call me at the school. The school number is 903-547-2291. or please feel free to contact me via e-mail, mckeeverc@hooksisd.net. My conference time is 1:45-2:30.
Homework!!
Your child will have homework Monday through Thursday. The homework can be found in your child's daily folder. Reading words and/or letters we are studying for the week will be stapled on the inside of your child's folder. Although we study these words and/or concepts daily at school, students need additional review at home. Reading books will be assigned for your child to read at home. Please check your child's folder daily for any homework and sign the homework sheet to verify that your child has completed the assignment. You may also check the homework tab on this web page for weekly assignments. It is important that your child develops good homework skills early in his academic career.

About Me!!
I have been married to my husband Greg for 20 years. We have two wonderful children. Ashton, my daughter is 19 and is attending the University of Texas at Tyler. My son, Evan, is 9 and is in third grade. . My teaching certificate allows me to teach PK-8th grade. I have taught at Hooks ISD for 18 years. Seventeen of those years have been in Kindergarten! Teaching is very important to me and I feel a strong foundation in the early years is important to a student's academic journey.
